02 Jan Introduction to Sports Injuries Management
The aim of this course is to provide an introductory overview of the diagnosis, predisposing factors, mechanisms and treatment options, including surgical techniques, of commonly encountered injuries sustained playing sport. A further aim is to understand the knowledge requirements in relation to sports injuries for the MRCS diploma examination, the fellowship of the College of Emergency Medicine (FCEM) and the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine (FSEM) diploma. Sports trauma is a currently growing specialty and a particularly timely one, when considering the rise of interest accompanying the 2012 Olympics.
