The Blackberry Clinic Group is currently recruiting for full and part-time salaried Musculoskeletal and Sports Physicians in its 9 clinics across England and Scotland. These are Milton Keynes, Guildford, Oxford, Brighton, Croydon, Aberdeen, Havant, Wolverhampton and Exeter.

The applicants must be a Musculoskeletal Medicine or SEM Physician with at least five years’ experience in their chosen field. The Blackberry Clinic Group is looking to employ physicians to undertake clinical sessions on a regular basis as well as further training and clinical development in the field of MSK and SEM medicine. They will be based in a single clinic or geographical cluster of clinics but may be asked to cover absence or holiday in any of the Blackberry Group Clinics.

The applicants will be expected to have good clinical MSK skills including being competent to inject peripheral joints and ideally experience in guided injections either with ultrasound or fluoroscopy. These skills will be developed through in-house training and appropriate clinical courses to allow the doctor to undertake a wide range of peripheral and spinal injections under fluoroscopic and ultrasound guidance in due course. The clinical training courses will be through individual mentoring, the Blackberry Education program and the International Spine Intervention Society.

The applicant will be expected to partake in regular clinical sessions seeing appropriate patients as well as observing other physicians in the team and having supervised treatment lists while training. They will be expected to work with other practitioners to both learn and teach new skills and provide CPD sessions for their clinic and the wider Blackberry Group CPD programme.

They will also be expected to present at appropriate teaching sessions both locally and nationally while working with the Blackberry Clinic. Training and education are key aspects of the Blackberry Group’s work with provision of national and international teaching and presentations. The applicant would be expected to take part in these opportunities for the Group. A generous study leave budget and protected time to encourage professional development is included, this will be extra to training in spinal injections either through the Blackberry Education courses or via the International Spine Intervention Society as part of their ongoing training.

Salary is commensurate with experience starting at £85,000 full-time.

 

Essential criteria for the post.

Full registration with GMC

Five years of MSK or SEM experience

Experience in the management of a wide range of MSK and SEM conditions

Willingness to train in fluoroscopically guided spinal procedures

Desirable criteria:

On the specialist register for SEM

Diploma or MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine or Musculoskeletal Medicine

Experience in either ultrasound or fluoroscopically guided injections

Previous research and/or lecturing experience
