Dear colleagues and friends
Professor John King sadly passed away this morning after a battle he fought with his customary grit and determination. Professor John King started the first Sports and Exercise Medicine Academic Department in UK at QMUL and was the first President of the European College of Sports and Exercise Medicine Physicians.
He was a leader, a mentor, a great and true friend, insightful supervisor and brilliant clinician. His efforts and the team he built are the main reasons we have SEM at QMUL today and he contributed to SEM development in Europe.
What a great loss but what a legacy he leaves behind. A true gentleman.
He will sadly missed by many and all of us.
